I look at his last 3 movies and see this for opening weekends
Doom 15.5 rated r. Pretty well hyped movie of popular video game. Never did take off big time.
Be Cool 23.5 pg13 lots of other stars like Travolta, Uma Thurman, Ced the Entertainer, Vince Vaugh and others. Sequel of popular Get Shorty
Walking Tall 15.5 pg13
I also see that Invincible did 17 million opening in about 300 less theatres.
Why it wont make it
Trailers look like same old BS underpriviledged underdog crap
The Rock is not kicking ass and taking names. Do they think hes going to draw big in a straight dramatical approach?
Football fans are going to watch it on TV this weekend not at the theatres.
I dont see the same date movie thing that Im sure helped Invincible go over.
Even though the Rock has lots of famale fans, this movie has a different feel than Invincible.
It is the only PG 13 movie opening this weekend which is a good thing for movie.
There will be about 700 theatres with sneak previews of the Guardian on Saturday which could take a litte money from Gridiron. As tight as some of these lines have been lately a hundred thousand here or there can add up.
Anyway if anyone sees something different in this movie speak up!!

your spot on about the saturday and sunday games hurting this film.In addition, you have the friday high school games negatively impacting the box office.It does have 3200 theatres, but there is far to much live football action for this thing to go over.Black dahlia may be the only one that goes over
